The BETAG VALID System provides a mobile solution for assessing and documenting exterior vehicle damage. Combining a purpose-designed lighting system, guided image capture and AI-supported damage detection, VALID helps make vehicle assessment faster, more consistent and easier to document.
The system is designed to assess different types of exterior damage, including small dents such as door dings and hail dents, larger dents and scratches. All captured information is brought together in a digital case, allowing the operator to review the vehicle damage and prepare the information for reporting or further processing.
Mobile Vehicle Assessment
Unlike fixed scanning installations, BETAG VALID can be moved freely around the vehicle. The guided positioning system allows the camera and lighting to be positioned for both vertical and horizontal body panels, making it possible to assess different areas of the vehicle with one system.
The self-powered design allows VALID to operate without a permanent external power connection and makes the system suitable for flexible use in bodyshops, dealerships, inspection locations and other vehicle assessment environments.
Advanced Lighting and Damage Detection
A key element of BETAG VALID is the combination of controlled lighting and digital image analysis. The lighting system helps reveal surface irregularities and damage that can otherwise be difficult to identify consistently with normal workshop lighting.
The captured images are processed using AI-supported computer vision to identify and document vehicle damage. The system supports the assessment of small dents, including door dings and hail dents, as well as larger dents and scratches.
Measure and Document Damage
BETAG VALID goes beyond simply taking photographs of the vehicle. Identified damage becomes part of a structured digital assessment, providing information that can be reviewed and used for the subsequent repair and estimation process.
The system supports the measurement of damage dimensions and affected areas, helping create a more objective and consistent basis for evaluating the required repair.
Human-Controlled Assessment
VALID is designed to support the expertise of the vehicle assessor rather than replace it. Detection results remain visible and reviewable, allowing the operator to verify and adjust the assessment when required.
This combination of digital damage detection and technician expertise provides greater transparency while keeping the final assessment under the control of the user.
Digital Case Management
Vehicle assessments are organized as digital cases. Images, identified damage and assessment information can be stored together, reviewed and processed without relying on separate handwritten notes, manually labelled photographs or repeated data entry.
Cases can be created, synchronized, exported, archived and reopened, providing a structured workflow from the initial vehicle inspection through to the completed damage record.
Integrated Reporting and Data Export
Assessment results can be exported as a digital report and are designed to support integration with external estimating, repair and dealer management systems.
This creates a digital connection between damage identification, documentation and repair planning, reducing the need to manually transfer assessment information between different systems.
Offline and Battery-Powered Operation
Damage processing is performed directly on the device, allowing BETAG VALID to carry out assessments without a continuous internet connection. Internet connectivity is primarily required for synchronization of case information.
Combined with the integrated battery system, this makes VALID suitable for mobile operation both indoors and outdoors.
